Boston Red Sox Spring Training History
The Boston Red Sox Spring Training home is Fort Myers, Florida. The Red Sox now play in Jet Blue Park. Prior to the opening of Jet Blue Park in 2012, the Sox Spring Training games were played at City of Palms Park, also in Ft. Myers. Prior to Ft. Myers the Red Sox trained at some 20 different locations. Former Boston Red Sox training grounds include; Charlottesville, Va. (1901); Augusta, Ga. (1902); Macon, Ga. (1903-1906); Little Rock, Ark. (1907-1908); Hot Springs, Ark. (1909-1910); Redondo Beach, Cal. (1911); Hot Springs, Ark. (1912-1918); Tampa (1919); Hot Springs, Ark. (1920-1923); San Antonio (1924); New Orleans, La. (1925-1927); Bradenton (1928-1929); Pensacola, Fla. (1930-1931); Savannah (1932); Sarasota (1933-1942); Medford, Mass. (1943-1944); Atlantic City, NJ (1945); Sarasota (1946-1958); Scottsdale, Az. (1959-1965); Winter Haven (1966-1992); and Ft. Myers (1993-present).
