Well known for his 93 mph fastballs, sinkers and sliders, Mike Timlin made over 75 pitching appearances for the Red Sox in 2004. Timlin's first three seasons with the Sox were quite successful, but multiple injuries in 2006 and 2007 kept him on the diabled list. Timlin had many successes during his 2003-2008 career with the Sox, and on April 19, 2009, he threw out the ceremionial first pitch of the game. The Red Sox honored him by declaring it 'Mike Timlin Day' at Fenway Park.
