Brought in the fill the vacancy left behind by Johnny Damon in 2006, Coco Crisp stepped into the role of both center fielder and lead-off hitter. Not long after beginning his contract with teh Red Sox, Crisp injured his hand and spent more than 40 games on hte disabled list. Upon his return, Crisp was bumped to 7th or 8th hitter and stayed there for the rest of the 2006 season. In Game 7 of the 2007 season, Crisp made a catch that helped take the Sox to their second World Series. In 2008, Crisp was instrumental in starting a brawl against the Tampa Rays and ended up suspended for the next five games.
