2007 Boston Red Sox AL East Champions
The 2007 MLB Regular Season Baseball Games are now over. This fall however, all of New England will still be "talkin' baseball". New England's beloved Red Sox are American League Eastern Division Champions and the Red Sox will continue to play baseball all the way to the World Series.
It was more than four months ago when this writer predicted an AL East Championship for the local nine but now the Baseball Gods will tease and daunt the Red Sox diehard fans as the team attempts to secure another World Series ring.
The appeal of this major league franchise has stretched beyond everyones expectations. The Red Sox were declared "America's Team" this summer by USA Today. Hey, wasn't that what Ted Turner called his Atlanta Braves a few decades ago. No matter - the Red Sox fan base is huge, especially here in New England.
This year the team has truly gone international. The new Red Sox players from Japan (Dice-K Matsuzaka and Hideki Okajima) are indeed star players that have made major contributions to both the performance of the team and to the appeal of the Boston Red Sox franchise worldwide.

The real winners - Red Sox Fans... in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Tokyo, Massachusetts and everywhere else. If the Red Sox can continue to win games - one certainty is - Red Sox Fans from across New England, the Nation, and the World, will be watching. If you are traveling in northern this fall and someone asks; "What's the score?", chances are good they are asking about the Boston Red Sox.
Congratulation to the 2007 Boston Red Sox - American League East Champions
